The Truth About Resilience

January 30, 2020

I discovered this quote by Mark Nepo (again!) as I was flicking through one of my old Happinez magazines. ⁣

I say ‘again’ because I’d underlined Mark’s words the first time I read the magazine, a number of years ago. ⁣

His words reminded me of a blog I wrote called Why You, Sensitive Soul, Are More Resilient Than You Think. In that blog I’d shared an article from one of the local newspapers called ‘How To Build Emotional Resilience’. I’d held off publishing my blog because I didn’t support most of what the journalist shared in the article. ⁣

I know resilience as a word comes and goes out of fashion but I think as an individual – and as a human race – and especially as a highly sensitive / aware person – we’re much more resilient than we give ourselves credit for. ⁣

I also know in challenging times we rarely make space to listen to what our heart is telling us, let alone trust that it will pull us through. ⁣

But it will. It always does. And it’s up to us to trust it, to bring us back into alignment with our own truth. ⁣

Hard, difficult, challenging times suck, I know that. But how would it feel to know your heart has your back? And will guide you down the right path? And in turn will flex that resilient muscle inside you like nothing else?⁣

Just a little something to think about!⁣

With much love,

Helen xx
