Workshops to support, nurture and help Highly Sensitive People, no matter their age

As a sensitive person you know the struggle all too well.

You see it as you look in the mirror, knowing the noise of the world has made your sensitivities spike to such a degree that you feel like you should just go back to bed.

And then you look at your sensitive child and know that they’re in the same boat. And that they need to go out into the world and do what they have to do, all the while feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, with their sensitivities on high alert.

Just like you, they have times they just can’t cope, and neither of you are sure what to do about it.

You’re both sick of the judgements of others – but how can things change, when you know deep down your sensitive nature is your true nature but the people around you simply don’t get it?

I believe your sensitivity – your awareness – is a Super Power.

Most likely though you’ve had to hide your Super Power because it made other people feel uncomfortable.

And this hiding, in turn, has caused you more pain than you know what to do with.

Yep I’ve been there.

I believed other people when they told me I was too sensitive for my own good and to just grow up and stop feeling so much.

I believed that I had to squish myself into a box of other people’s making because for some reason their opinion mattered more than what my own heart was telling me. 

I believed I had to hide my sensitivities because they were seen as a flaw – and by default, all of who I was was seen as a flaw as well.

I’ve been known to lose my way to such an extent that I thought there was literally no way back to finding the true me.

So yes, I know the journey you’re walking.

I know the pain you’re hiding.

I know there are people around you who don’t care less about your sensitive nature, and certainly have no interest in listening to what you have to say about who you know you truly are.

That’s why I’ve created these workshops.

As a safe space to help sensitive people, and parents and carers of sensitive children, recognise the enormous gifts they innately possess.

To help them connect with their Sensitivity Super Power. To see it as the greatest gift they could possibly have. And to help to make real change through ownership of this gift, in a world which needs us to step up and share our true nature more than ever.

Workshop 1 - Caring for your Sensitive Self - Helen Joy Butler

As a sensitive adult you need to actively care for yourself in this not-so-sensitive world, so you can show up in your life in a way that feels authentic and true for you.

At this workshop we will share our journeys as sensitive people, gain an understanding of how it is possible to be true to our sensitive nature and still live a fulfilling life, and look at ways to care for ourselves in a not-so-sensitive world.

This workshop is a mix of spirituality and practicality, with meditation and quiet reflection an integral part of our time together. There will also be individual, small group and full group discussion, all with the intention of creating sanctuary in your sensitive life and to support you to live in a way that nurtures and cocoons your sensitive self.

Workshop 2 - Your Relationship with your Sensitive Child - Helen Joy Butler

As a sensitive parent or caregiver you know how challenging it can be to care for yourself at the same time as caring for your sensitive child. 

With both of your sensitivities on high alert it can be very difficult to navigate the world around you and still show up as a happily functioning human being.

At this workshop we will share our journeys with our sensitive child/ren and discuss ways to live a purposeful life, all the while having a positive and happy relationship with yourself and your child/ren.

This workshop is a mix of spirituality and practicality, with meditation and quiet reflection an integral part of our time together. There will also be individual, small group and full group discussion, all with the intention of creating sanctuary in your relationship with your sensitive child.

Workshop 3 - Your Sensitive Child at School - Helen Joy Butler

Oh goodness I know this journey all too well.

Having taught sensitive children, parenting one of my own, and being a sensitive person myself, I understand and recognise the challenges a sensitive child faces at school, particularly in the traditional school setting.

At this workshop we will share our journeys as well as ways we can advocate for and support our child/ren on their own journey through the schooling system, all the while caring for our sensitive selves along the way.

This workshop is a mix of spirituality and practicality, with meditation and quiet reflection an integral part of our time together. There will also be individual, small group and full group discussion, all with the intention of creating sanctuary in the schooling life of your sensitive child/ren.

This workshop is for you if your audience are a parents or caregivers of a highly sensitive child between the ages of 7 and 14, or have experienced the traditional schooling system with a younger child.

This workshop is definitely for you if your audience are parents or caregivers, or are a significant person in the life of a highly sensitive child.

Workshop 4 - Your Sensitive Child's relationship with others who aren't - Helen Joy Butler

Like our sensitive selves, our sensitive children need to spend time with people who aren’t sensitive at all. This challenge is real, and so from a practical perspective we need to teach our children strategies to own, care for and nurture their own sensitivities, all the while living and interacting in a not-so-sensitive world.

At this workshop we will share our journeys, and discover strategies to help our sensitive children navigate their relationships with the people in their life who aren’t so sensitive, with a focus on those closest to them (for example, their other parent, family members, teachers, etc).

This workshop is a mix of spirituality and practicality, with meditation and quiet reflection an integral part of our time together. There will also be individual, small group and full group discussion.

This workshop is definitely for you if your audience are parents or caregivers, or are a significant person in the life of a highly sensitive child.
