A Beginner’s Guide to Creating Sanctuary

I’ve had a lot of conversations about the concept of sanctuary and how it’s so difficult to connect with in our busy lives.

The question I hear most often – “How can I bring sanctuary into my life when I’m too busy to focus on it?” – seems to be a common thread for many people.

Sound familiar?

If so, don’t worry. You’re not the only one.

With all the things on our plate that we need to do each day – working, caring for ourselves and our families, paying the bills, connecting with elderly parents, trying to eat/think/be healthier – there simply isn’t a lot of time left in the day to focus on sanctuary.

That’s why I wrote A Beginner’s Guide to Creating Sanctuary –
to help you learn the basics of bringing sanctuary into your home, body and life.

And to share with you a different way of looking at sanctuary.

To make it easier for you to connect with so you don’t feel like you’re adding another thing to your already over-busy plate.

Sanctuary is all around you if you take the time to notice it.

By writing and sharing my new ebook A Beginner’s Guide to Creating Sanctuary with you I hope to help you connect with
the concept of sanctuary more deeply in your own life, each and every day.

At the end of each section there are a number of questions for you to reflect upon, to help you delve further into your own version of sanctuary.

A Beginner's Guide to Creating Sanctuary: In The Home - Helen Joy Butler

“As always, Helen has nailed some really important concepts for modern women living in a busy world. I felt sanctuary just reading her beautiful words and this book has got me reconsidering the support and nurturing I provide myself in all areas of life. The concepts in Helen’s book have the potential to be life changing.”

Susan Pearse, Hay House Author and Cofounder of Mind Gardener

“Helen has laid out a foundation or map if you like on how to get a more centred life with the help of your most important space – your home. This is the sacred space that bares witness to our highs and lows, our joys and sorrows. To find sanctuary in our home provides the platform first and foremost to find sanctuary in all other areas of our life and ultimately ourselves. Thank you Helen for showing us the way.”

Louise D’Allura, Coach, Mentor, Speaker, and Creator of the WELL Productivity® Program

“Reading Helen’s book on Sanctuary has made me realise that I need to slow down, take notice of and enjoy the little things in life. Helen’s patient words flow so easily which guides you to understanding how to create sanctuary in all aspects of your life. I totally loved the meditation, which helped me to discover what sanctuary meant to me (to tell you the truth it’s unbelievable what pops up during and after the meditation). Working through Helen’s teachings and also the activity questions I feel I am on my way to having sanctuary in my home, my body and my life.”

Julie Miller, Mum and Business Owner

“This book, A Beginners Guide to Creating Sanctuary, is like a breath of fresh air. It lifts you up and helps clear the cobwebs that have been keeping you in one place, thinking the same way and feeling a bit stuck.

It’s a quick read, yet packs a powerful punch. Within these pages, Helen explores concepts that help anchor you into what sanctuary means for you, in all areas of your life. As a life coach, I particularly love the idea of sanctuary being something we can create not only in our home but also in our body and life. Isn’t that what we all desire? A sense of love, connection and sanctuary in all aspects of our life.

Helen shares her wisdom so generously, and when you’ve finished reading this book and pondered on the questions she asks, you will likely find, as I did, that creating sanctuary and that feeling of deep connection is not as hard or challenging as it might at first seem. With Helen’s guidance and this book, you will discover what sanctuary means to you.”
